Platforms in Wrocław
Usually Glovo, Uber Eats, Wolt, often Bolt Food. Confirm zones at signup — apps do not cover estates equally. Glovo: volume plus shops and pharmacies. The Rynek is smaller than Warsaw’s Śródmieście, so courier competition can be thick on Friday and empty on Tuesday at 15:00. Multi-apping: partner contract first, not two phones “as a test”.
Pay: about 35–45 PLN/h indicative
The 35–45 PLN per hour band is active riding in typical Wrocław conditions, not a dead early afternoon in Leśnica with no pins. Peak and rain can run about 1.5–2×. Mechanics: courier hourly pay.
Peak shifts, indicative: 4 h ≈ 100–200 PLN, 6 h ≈ 150–300, 8 h ≈ 250–350 — the national compass. In Wrocław the top of an 8-hour band is harder than in Warsaw because volume is smaller; shorter empty returns in the centre can lift effective hourly if you are not chasing pins to Krzyki by car for no reason. Transport: islands, bridges, compact centre
The Rynek, Ostrów Tumski, Nadodrze and the station area feed short trips. Krzyki, Fabryczna, Psie Pole are a different scale: an e-bike or scooter starts to make sense. Bridges (Pomorski, Grunwaldzki, Pokoju and dozens of footbridges) are part of the route, not decoration. Navigation that cannot handle bridges will add 8 minutes and anger.
- Bike / e-bike — natural start. Paths along the Oder can be great; in winter they are slippery. The centre is built for two wheels more than Warsaw.
- E-scooter / scooter — outer estates and bridges. Tram tracks near the Rynek are a classic trap.
- Car — rain, large orders, Psie Pole. Parking by the Rynek eats hourly. Do not buy a car “because Wrocław is sprawling” until a week of pins says so — the core is compact.
Islands mean “1.5 km as the crow flies” can be 3 km via footbridges. That is Wrocław trip maths. Count it in week one before you decide the rate “is bad”.
When to go out, costs, first week
Lunch 11:00–14:00: campuses, offices by the Rynek, Nadodrze. Evening 17:00–22:00: flats plus restaurants. Friday–Saturday: the Rynek and Nadodrze pull a night tail. Rain lifts demand; the Oder and wind lift the cold. If the Rynek is stacked with couriers, move to Krzyki or Fabryczna instead of circling the Town Hall.
Do not occupy one footbridge for eight hours. Wrocław courier work is moving between islands of demand, not faith that the Rynek always feeds.
Bridges and setts wear tyres. E-bike: charging if you live in Psie Pole and ride Nadodrze. Centre parking is a problem, not scenery. Partner settlement in the contract, not in this article. The commute is shorter than Warsaw, but 30 minutes on a tram to the first drop is still unpaid.

Compare Warsaw (40–50 PLN/h) and Kraków (42–52). Wrocław loses on the top of the band and wins on city scale and often lower rent. Do not move “for 5 PLN/h” if you already have a flat and a network here.
Winter: wind on Grunwaldzki Bridge is not the same as wind in a Kazimierz gateway. Summer: Rynek terraces slow the crossing. Events clog the centre with couriers and fans at once. Phone: mount, power bank, offline maps on islands where signal dies in a gate.

What not to do at the start
Do not stand eight hours under the Town Hall because of a postcard. Do not buy a car in week one. Do not pay for activation without a contract. If after two weeks of notes you sit clearly under 35 PLN/h, change hour and slice of the city before you write off Lower Silesia.
Bridges, trams, and a “straight line” on the map
In Wrocław the app draws a bird; you ride as a human: closed footbridges, trams, repairs, runners on the Oder path at 18:00. Week one is learning bridges. Memorise a handful of footbridges. At the Rynek get off the bike early. In Psie Pole do not trust a “fast trip” until you have returned. If Grunwaldzki wind eats your hands, shorten the January shift — 35–45 PLN/h will not warm numb fingers.

Bike or car in Wrocław?
